Day 1 – Tuesday, March 11
Arrival & Coastal Welcome
• Morning: Depart Chicago (ORD) for Hilton Head Island (HHH)
• Early Afternoon: Check into the elegant Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa
• Afternoon: Unwind by the ocean or poolside with your favorite refreshment
• Evening: Enjoy a coastal-inspired dinner at the resort’s beachfront restaurant—an easy, elegant start to a soulful weekend
Day 2 – Wednesday, March 12
Roots & Rhythms of the Gullah-Geechee
• Morning: Enjoy a hearty Southern breakfast (included at the resort)
• Guided Gullah-Geechee Cultural Tour: Explore stories, language, and traditions passed down through generations—featuring basket weaving, oral history, and living folklore
• Afternoon: Pedal through island trails or explore the Heritage Library Museum, tracing the African American legacy of the region
• Evening: Savor fresh seafood and, if the spirit moves you, let Gullah music stir your soul under the stars
Day 3 – Thursday, March 13
Daufuskie Island: A Birthday Tribute to Harvette
A day of joy, remembrance, and reverence in a sacred Gullah space
• Morning: Breakfast at leisure
• 7:30 AM: Depart by shuttle to the ferry landing and cross the water to Daufuskie Island
• Midday: Step into a vibrant cultural celebration held in honor of Harvette Grey’s 80th
• Live Gullah music & storytelling
• Ancestral blessing & libation ceremony
• Traditional Lowcountry meal (shrimp & grits, okra gumbo, benne wafers)
• Sweetgrass weaving demonstrations & community joy
• Afternoon: Guided golf-cart tour to island landmarks—lighthouses, prayer houses, praise spaces
• 5:00 PM: Return ferry to Hilton Head
• Evening: Unwind at the resort spa or toast to Harvette’s legacy with cocktails by the beach
Day 4 – Friday, March 14
Farewell with Grace
• Morning: Breakfast and Final beach walk, swim, or bike ride along the oceanfront
• Enjoy a relaxed breakfast with new memories and old friends
